Post by David – So we decided from the moment we met Payal and Justin, early on at Harold Washington Library, that he looks like Ryan Gosling. In case you didn’t know we have a habit of telling people what actors they look like. Cathy looks like Franka Potenta. I often get Jack Black which in some circles is the sexiest man alive. I wish I still got Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day or Mark Rufalo. Anyway, we were going to be in the city and they were checking out their venue so we figured it would be fun to make it a double date to check out the library. It was then that Ryan told me about his secret plan to do a special dance for Payal. I figured, maybe a short dance, something simple and special. No no no. That wasn’t good enough for Justin. He had a full selection of dances, complete with spotlights, masks, guitar, and both families completely involved. It was by far the coolest event we’ve ever seen at a wedding. I’m still recovering from the awesome that was oozing out of Justin’s pores. Payal was completely overwhelmed and shocked as she should have been. And for the rest of the night, it was party ’till it hurts.

Payal looked absolutely stunning in her dress! 🙂

Things got a little silly as they often do with us.

After portraits we did an outfit change.

Time to get ready for the barat!

Oh hi, Mr horse! Also – The nostrils are eyes. Can’t unsee monkey in a hat. You’re welcome.

Time for the ceremony. 🙂

Payal, you look gorgeous! 😀

Pulling back the curtain… 🙂

I think this is my favorite shot of the day. Sometimes the simple details are my favorite.

I have to say that if we ever renew our vows I’m totally using the tradition I see at Hindu weddings of having the immediate family right up there, surrounding the couple on their wedding day. I feel it’s such an awesome symbol. 🙂

Cakes are ALWAYS a fun experience. 😀

I don’t know how awesome I’d look eating in front of everyone but these two looked like royalty! 🙂

This might be one of my favorite mother-son dance photos. 🙂

Hey Girl.. (sorry must resist urge to make Ryan Gosling Meme). 😀

Yes that is a giant LED wedding ring. Yes it was awesome.

Forgot to mention their special choreographed dance as well! And Payal is also an excellent dancer!

I’m wasn’t kidding when I said everyone was in on the dance.

Then the floor opened up and the glow stick necklaces, which became headbands, came out.

It was a little loud for a couple people, but I’ll be honest. I love this photo. I might get it printed. 🙂

I wish all weddings were as bright and colorful as the Indian weddings we shoot! 🙂

And one last shot out in the hallway.

Well guys. I cannot say enough how much fun we had at your wedding. Justin. Seriously. You’ve raised the bar for guys everywhere when it comes to special dances for their new wives. It was beyond impressive and you should be very proud of yourself. Thank you again to both of you for being our first wedding at Harold Washington Library which we absolutely LOVED and we hope to see you guys again in the future. Have an AMAZING marriage! 🙂

Much Love,
Cathy and David
