Chicago Wedding | Mid-America Club

It was our first time shooting a wedding at Lake Shore East Park. We’d never been there before and to be honest, we really didn’t even know it existed before they told us. I realize now that I’ve been missing out on a beautiful park that made for a urban-wrapped Jewish wedding ceremony.  The sun reflected off the buildings from all sides making it feel like the ceremony had studio lighting set up. After their ceremony I headed over to the AON building while Cathy look their portraits from spot to spot from Lake Shore East Park to the Mid America Club as the sun went down. Our favorite time to take portraits of the Bride and Groom is the last two hours before sunset and the timing couldn’t have been better. This was our first time at the Mid-America club too, a beautiful venue with wonderful staff and some of the prettiest views of the city I’ve ever seen. The large light fixtures mixed beautifully with the purple uplighting that decorated the room. We had such an incredible evening of laughing and dancing and performances by family and friends, that when it came time to hoist the Bride and Groom up on chairs I wasn’t even surprised — it was just part of the day. I guess that’s how I like weddings to be. Fun. Energetic. Exciting. Full of family and friends. Their wedding had all of that and more. Thanks so much guys for an awesome time.

Much love,
Cathy and David
