Milwaukee Wedding | Villa Terrace

Milwaukee Wedding Photographer | Brooke and John | Post by David • Brooke and John. The only word I can think of to describe this couple is “magical” as silly as that might sound. And that works too because these two are silly! 🙂 I’ve never had a couple that laughed more, joked more or had more fun on their wedding day than these two. It was an emotional roller coaster of laughing and happy tears and hugging and loving. Their wedding was everything about what we love to do all wrapped up in one day. And it doesn’t help that Villa Terrace in Milwaukee, where they had their reception, is one of the prettiest venues we’ve ever worked at. Narrowing down their photos to our “favorites” was one of the most difficult challenges I’ve had in a while! I think we knew it would be this fun when we did their Milwaukee Engagement Session, where getting them to smile was absolutely effortless. We’re thrilled to have been a part of their big day and hope to see them again.

Seriously. Go check out their marriage advice and favorite parts of their day down below. 🙂

Much love,
Cathy and David

Where did you go on your honeymoon? • We kicked off our marriage with a trip to  Kauai, HI.

What was your favorite adventure? • Our favorite adventure was a kayak paddle across the Napali Coast. We wondered if we had made a mistake when we first launched our boat into the surf. The 17-mile journey seemed daunting with the chop of the ocean pushing us around, but we laughed along the way, drawing parallels between our kayak adventure and marriage: trust one another; communicate openly and honestly; enjoy the journey.  The former rower in us both was determined to power through the waves, all the while enjoying the remote beaches, sea caves and waterfalls. It was an unforgettable odyssey.

What was your favorite part of the wedding day? • Our favorite part of our wedding day was bringing people together from across many different chapters in our lives. While we certainly feel joyful in our marriage, we underestimated the joy our love could also bring others! One guest stated, “Simply loving one another brings so much happiness to the people around you.” The laughter, smiles and dancing so beautifully captured in Cathy and David’s photos are powerful reminders of love’s positive energy.

Do you have any advice for couples getting married? • Our advice for couples is to always assume the best in one another. Don’t begin marriage with the mindset of a 50-50 responsibility split, but bring 100 percent of yourself to one another each day.
