Post by Cathy • We like to tell our couples that we’re pretty good luck with weather. In our seven years of photographing weddings, it’s only rained on us a few times (less than five). But occasionally, we do have one of those days when the weather refuses to cooperate. On the day of Erin and LeVar’s engagement session, the skies were clear, the sun was out, and we were sure it was going to be a perfect evening. But as we drove closer and closer to Milton Lee Olive Park, the sky started to look a little hazy, and by the time we all arrived at the park, a thick fog had settled at the edge of the lake. So instead of a beautiful city skyline in the background of our shots, there was going to be a solid wall of white. Instead of letting it get us down, though, we used that clean white background to our advantage and found some gorgeous shots. After that we headed over to Lincoln Park for the second half of their engagement session and had some fun at the honeycomb.
Erin and LeVar were awesome (even though fog does cruel things to hair) — laughing and smiling the entire session. And their great attitude paid off, because weeks later, on their wedding day, we returned to Olive Park for their wedding portraits and the sky was crystal clear (even though it was supposed to rain).
