Christine and Mike | Hilton O’Hare | Rosemont, Illinois • One of the questions we often get when we shoot weddings is whether or not we’re going to be the one to shoot their wedding, and what sort of circumstances stop us from being there. Well this wedding is a prime example. I shot this wedding the day after our son was born, while Cathy was still at the hospital. I feel like that is going to be the answer to that question from here on out. It was definitely an emotional day, and seeing families with their children took on a completely different reaction. To say that I missed Cathy and Ezra is an understatement, but Christine and Mike were incredible at showing their support, being infallibly kind and loving throughout the day. They even went so far as to try and make me go home earlier than I was contracted so that I could go home and see my son. Thank you again to Christine and Mike (for saving my lens after I left it at the reception) and for being so freaking awesome. We love you guys! Also, as a side note — my second shooter for the day, Oscar, owns an amazing Michelin Recommended restaurant in Chicago called Rickshaw Republic. You should go. (His photos are images 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 18, 22, and 29.) See Christine and Mike’s engagement session here.
