Chicago Wedding Photographer | Champagne Salon

Post by David  I absolutely love small weddings. I love them because they are intimate, because everyone at the wedding is close to the couple and knows them. I love how much more emotional these weddings are and how there is a sense of closeness among everyone gathered. I love being able to hear the vows so much more clearly, hear the groom say “Hell yes,” instead of “I do,” and laugh with those gathered. We haven’t done a small wedding like this in years and, to be honest, I wish we did more of them. Don’t get me wrong I love the big weddings too, but there’s just something special about being a part of something so small that it makes me feel like I am really a part of the wedding day, like we’re witnesses to the event and not just guests. I’d also like to say that if you ever want to talk about food with us we are always happy to oblige. Heidi is a PR person in the food industry and loves talking about restaurants so I’m sure you can understand that we got along splendidly. And when we noticed her vows were written on the back of a menu while editing the photos, it totally made sense. 😀 Even more awesome was that between the ceremony and cocktail reception, Heidi and Tre treated us to an amazing meal at Nelcotte. How’s that for a vendor meal? Right now I know there are a lot of photographers out there with slack jaws and wide eyes, feeling very jealous! 😉 Believe me, it was as awesome as it sounds! Heidi and Tre were so much fun and I am positive I will be chatting with Heidi on Facebook about food for years to come. It was so wonderful getting to know the two of you and we look forward to seeing you guys again in the future. And please don’t hesitate to send us more restaurant recommendations guys! We’re always happy to get them! 🙂

Much love,
Cathy and David
