Kristen and AJ’s Destination Wedding Photography on April 10th, 2010 – Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
Post by Cathy, Cathy and David Photographers
French Country Inn, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin — The Saturday of Kristen and AJ’s wedding was such a gorgeous, sunny (and windy) day on the lake without a drop of rain. The girls all gathered in Kristen’s bridal suite and sipped champagne while laughing and telling stories as the guys all gathered on a balcony over the lake and joined AJ in smoking the last cigar of his single life.
Once Kristen slipped into her (gorgeous!) gown and AJ into his tux, everything went off without a hitch. AJ’s dad (who I swear looks exactly like Robert De Niro) did such a great job performing the ceremony. It was so personal and, of course, so emotional, and reminded me of the day my dad married David and I. And that was the great thing about Kristen and AJ’s wedding… everything was so personal and true to them. Nothing was about tradition or display. With 60 of their closest friends and family members, they spoke from their hearts and celebrated with the people who mean most to them.
Kristen and AJ – Thank you two so much for allowing us to be a part of your day. You two are so natural and close with one another and just made our job so easy. Enjoy your new life as newlyweds and never stop laughing together.

Not only did she have amazing shoes at the rehearsal, but the wedding ones were just as spectacular.
One of David’s favorites.
I love that sometimes David and I get similar shots or moments at around the same time. It’s weird how it works out sometimes.
The best man was so excited to be a part of their big day.
Kristen and AJ had such an adorable first look. AJ had been waiting to lose it all day.
This kid was such a ham for the camera!
There wasn’t a dry eye in the room during their vows.
There were so many emotions that ran through the room during the toasts. Whether it was crying hearing a letter written from an out of town friend, memories of childhood or laughter at ‘unspoken’ but hinted at memories.
Did I mention that baby LOVES the camera??
Let me just say the food was AMAZING and the cake was DIVINE. The chef was AWESOME! Also! That super-cool vintage cake topper was actually their grandparents cake topper! How cool is that?
And a little ring-shot action.
Alright. Got to explain this next one. As the night was drawing to a close Kristen approached David and said that she wanted to do a Bridezilla photo. David of course took this very seriously and somehow Kristen was able to climb (with the help of the best man) a tiny playhouse in front of the French Country Inn. This resulted in what we think to be the silliest and most fun photo we’ve ever had the joy of taking. After a bunch of takes and our flash batteries dying we finally got the shot we wanted. Enjoy.
