Emily and Paul | Chevy Chase Country Club | Lake Forest, Illinois and Wheeling, Illinois • What does joy look like? Well, if you ask me, it looks a bit like Emily and Paul on their wedding day. To be completely honest, we’ve had some seriously happy couples and we kind of pride ourselves on that. We always like to make sure we get couples who don’t take things too seriously, apart from having fun. That’s really important to us. So, believe me when I say that Emily and Paul are one of the happiest couples we’ve ever seen. And even when Emily was about to pass out during the ceremony (because old church plus no AC equals sweating) they never let go of their cheerful faces. These two were all about their family — something else that’s super important to us — and always made sure that everyone (including us) was taken care of. So here’s hoping that you guys take care of one another as much as you take care of your family and friends — because if you do, you guys will go far. See their engagement session here.

just for fun
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Why?
We went to Antigua because there was an amazing mix of culture, history, and beaches!! 365 beaches- one for each day of the year. Antigua is in the Caribbean and we wouldn’t have changed our destination.
What was your favorite adventure?
Our favorite excursion was zip lining in Antigua’s rain forest. It was something we did on a whim on the last full day of our vacation and we are so glad we did it!
What was the best thing you ate?
At the Grande Antigua Sandal’s resort, there are so many different restaurants to try! Our favorite was called Eleanor’s. It had true Caribbean food- lots of fish, as fresh as you can get it! YUM!
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Our favorite part of our wedding day was the Ceremony. You truly have no idea how you’re going to feel. We both started to feel nervous when the ceremony started but the second we saw each other at each end of the aisle, all was right in the world. We were ecstatic. The only 30 minutes that we genuinely could not stop smiling. It was the absolute best!
Do you have any advice for couples?
Advice for planning a wedding: I KNOW IT’S HARD. Keep going because every single second of the day is worth the hundreds of hours wedding planning!
Advice for married couples: Well, being 10 days into our marriage, we’re still on a complete high. Enjoy every small and big thing that happens in your relationship. It’s something that you will cherish forever. I can’t wait to cherish it forever.
