Meredith and Ulises’ Destination Wedding – Captiva, Florida

Captiva, Florida — We can’t say enough about how awesome Mer and Ulises are. We met them a year and a half ago through two of our other brides, Amanda and Summer, and knew instantly that they were the exact kind of couple we love working with. They were excited about their wedding plans, excited about their photography, and absolutely nuts about each other. So we’ve been looking forward to their island wedding for quite a while.
Since WPPI, a photographers’ convention in Vegas, was the week of their wedding, we had to fly straight from Las Vegas to Fort Myers (in a storm with tons of lightning and turbulence… scary!). And for two days straight it was cold, rainy, stormy, and downright nasty. But then, Saturday morning came and there wasn’t a single puff of cloud, just a bright yellow sun shining in a clear blue sky. The temperature was a steady 68 degrees and the air was crisp and dry. It could not have been more perfect. And that evening, right as the sun was melting into the horizon, Meredith and Ulises stood on the beach and made promises to each other in front of their very closest friends and family. Like I said, it could not have been more perfect.
Mer & Ulises- Thank you two so much for making us a part of your day and for treating us like family at your wedding. It was truly an honor to be there for you guys and to capture every moment. 🙂

Meet Meredith and Ulises! 🙂 How cute are these two?
Just some of the details. 🙂
The maracas were the favors and they were hand-made in Nicaragua! 😀 How cool is that?
The best man passed out cigars.
When one of the groomsmen saw me taking pictures, he jumped in and this is the result. LOL.
She was so happy. 🙂
So there happened to be a flock of seagulls sitting on the beach near where we were doing formals. We couldn’t resist. 🙂
Have to throw a little shoutout to The Bui Brothers for giving us some new things to think about with light at WPPI. Thanks guys! 🙂
Ulises was talking on the beach before the wedding when he was with David, “It’s all about her, man. It’s all about her.”
Probably one of the most emotional vows we’ve seen. Was hard not to get choked up.
David jumped in the back of the Ford Mustang they’d rented for the getaway.
So have to talk about Alex and Robin’s (the best man, below, and the man of honor, two below) speeches. We’ve seen some amazing speeches in the weddings we’ve shot. These two however had both of us with tears in our eyes and I think everyone else in the room. These two have such passion for Mer and Ulises, and it’s no wonder why. 🙂
Robin, Mer’s brother and man of honor, was so proud of his sister. 🙂
Such a cute Father-Daughter dance. 😀
Yup. The towels came out.
Ulises’ dad had David cracking up the entire evening. 🙂
Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this wedding and the people at it. Thank you so much to everyone again for making us feel so welcome. We loved every minute! 😀 Mer and Ulises, see you at Amanda’s wedding, and I’m sure many more in the future! 🙂
