I would tell anyone to hire Cathy & David in a heartbeat! They photographed our wedding in downtown Chicago on Thanksgiving weekend. They were friendly, courteous, professional, fun, and super talented! They not only didn’t complain about having to fight the crazy holiday traffic & crowds, but they were willing to help with whatever needed to be done! When we ran late they kept in contact with each other the whole time, and organized things in a way that we were able to get all our photos pre-wedding and make up for the lost time. Everyone at the wedding loved them, and many of them are now facebook friends! They treated us like customers, royalty, and old friends
The most important part though, was the photos. They came out AMAZING!!! I’m talking shocking, “how did you make everyone look so gorgeous”, lasting memory.. beautiful! Many of our pictures are so glamorous and perfect that they look editorial. People constantly think they’re from a fashion shoot instead of a real wedding. I’m an actress, and the shots are so captivating that I now use one in my portfolio! They caught the fun, the love, the memories – but took them to a whole new level of beauty. The love of our friends & family made our wedding, but Cathy & David’s photos captured it forever.

One of the most insanely beautiful shots from our wedding is one I didn’t even realize was being captured at the time. I have to also to preface this review by saying that my husband and I are both extremely finnicky about photographs. My journalism background basically dictated that we would have decidedly young, hip, and documentary-style photographers who would really listen to what we wanted and capture those small, intimate moments that tend to blur together in the rush of a wedding day. I’m accustomed to off-the-cuff, unobtrusive photography, not highly posed or stylized images. And it doesn’t help that our brother-in-law is a top-notch wedding photog here in southern California, where we live. In short, we had been previously exposed to fabulous work, we knew what we were looking for, and we wanted a particular photojournalistic style to convey our day (and the afterparty, natch!).
We found just that in Cathy and David Bock, a married couple based in Bloomington (but with the talent to go worldwide, take it from us!). Their blog galleries are fabulous (and narrated in such a personal, intimate way by C+D), but two things really sold us. First, we asked to look at several of their complete galleries from recent weddings. This really helped us see the fluidity of their style (and told such a complete picture of the wedding day — having a husband and wife really helps ensure every little moment of preparation leading up to the ceremony is captured! Plus, what a deal!). Second, it’s obvious that Cathy and David are genuinely doing what they love. Take it from me, kids — this cannot be underestimated. They love weddings, from start to finish, and that’s what’s so refreshing about the way they shoot. We couldn’t have been more thrilled with them. And a third thing: they stayed. For a LONG time. As in, until almost midnight. Find me a wedding photographer who does that! They are fabulous people, period. A plus, plus, plus. We will treasure these photographs for the rest of our days.

This photog couple is AMAZING! Not only are their prices good, their work is outstanding!
