It was a warm, rainy evening last May when Brandon surprised Meghan by lowering one knee to the wet concrete next to the Sample Gates on I.U. campus and pulling out a ring. Meghan’s face lit up with joy, and of course she said YES! Luckily, Brandon had hired us to photograph his proposal (all sneaky-like). But since I was out of town that day, I have only seen pictures of Meghan and Brandon, so I was super-excited to finally meet them in person when they said their vows last Saturday.

June 20th, 2009 — Unlike their rainy-day proposal session (see their photos here), the sky on Saturday was absolute perfection, a bright yellow sun and perfect white, poofy clouds. Both of Meghan’s parents, as well as her aunt and grandmother, showed up at the salon bright and early to see Meghan begin her day. And from that moment on, everything was perfect. Meghan’s dress was GORGEOUS and looked like it was made just for her. The reception was full of heart-felt words, tears, (awesome food!) and, of course, some major partying that went late into the night! We had a blast!

Meghan and Brandon- Thank you for letting us capture this important event in your lives. We were so amazed by your closeness to your families and friends. It was easy to see that you are both loved and adored by everyone around you. Congratulations to you both, and we hope you have an amazing time in Cancun!!!

Wedding Photography in Indianapolis, Indiana

“Hey David. Just wanted to let you know we mailed Cathy’s jacket.”

“Seriously?? Thank you SO much!!”

Yes. Cat lost her coat at the last wedding (at least it wasn’t a lens or something).

As I watched the maid of honor become overwhelmed with happy tears I realized just how much she loved this couple. Everyone was overjoyed at seeing these two get married. There were tears in everyone’s eyes. Of course watching these two getting married, the officiant singing a soft song as they lit their candles, brought me back to when I read the first of many emails.

We met this crazy duo over emails time and time again and through many comments on other bride’s wedding days with lines such as, “It’s only 4 months away.” “It’s only 2 months!!!” “WE’RE SO EXCITED!!!” After talking on the phone a couple weeks before the wedding we were so thrilled to have booked them. I know I’ve said it before (we’re just lucky I guess) but this is one of the sweetest couples we’ve ever had the honor to work with.

Just a few of the great details of the day we spent with them: Jacob had his own Captain America cuff-links from Stephanie. The guys bought us breakfast at Cracker Barrel (such a sweet thing to do). The groom and his gents went to Red’s Barber Shop for an old fashioned haircut and shave, and the gals went to a salon called Alchemy to get their hair all done up. When they had their first look the two were almost in tears at seeing each other. They were in tears again as they said their vows. They were in tears as their friends told them how dear they were to each other. (I was in tears too!

I could go on and on about how fun this couple was and how beautiful their wedding day was but as always the photos in the end speak for themselves. Meet Steph and Jake!

So this was hysterical. The maid of honor after her tear-filled heartfelt speech announced that all the guys that had Steph’s key to her place had to finally turn them in as she was now taken. Seriously, like every guy in the place handed in a key, young and old. Finally followed by the best man. Hilarious!!!

And last and my favorite.

What a seriously cool wedding. We hope these two renew their vows someday and give us a call because we’ll totally be there.

Also on a side note, just wanted to make a shout out to our friend, Ben for all the awesome words of encouragement. You rock man!

As well, we just want people to know that we’ll be in Bloomington, ILLINOIS  visiting my parents till Sunday evening. So if you need to get ahold of us just call us on our cells or drop us an email.
