Katie and Ray / Chicago

Post by David – Katie and Ray’s session ended up being more than one day because every time we tried to schedule their session the weather would disagree with us. Well we finally had enough and went for it. That day turned out to be a horribly wet day, blisteringly cold, and my fingertips nearly froze themselves off. So after 20 minutes of trying REALLY hard to make it work we gave up and rescheduled. Thankfully even though it was a little bit colder for their next session we at least didn’t have any wet weather. These two were SUCH good sports and we had so much fun working with them.Katie and Ray are so cute together, constantly making silly faces, laughing and smiling. We barely even had to direct them at all and they were non stop the whole time lovey dovey. Just the way we like it.

Katie has been so excited to be her photos on our blog and it reminds me of when we were waiting for our own blog entry.So here you go Katie! ENJOY!We can’t wait for your wedding and we so look forward to seeing you guys again!!!!

Allyson and Eric / Illinois

Post by David – I met up with Allyson and Eric in Pontiac, Illinois at this super cool old barn on the outskirts of town. We had recently purchased our Subaru Forester and I couldn’t help myself while I waited for them driving through dirt, through huge puddles, over grass… dirt… yah pretty much everything. I felt very cool after all that and thankfully I went ahead and parked before they showed up. I admitted to my craziness though and they thankfully found it hilarious and not disturbing. Cathy shook her head when I got home after asking how the freshly waxed car had gotten so filthy. Allyson and Eric were super fun to work with and were great sports letting me run around throughout the barn making them jump from patch of light to patch of light. It was quite honestly one of my favorite places I’ve ever shot at and was an absolute blast. We cannot wait to shoot at the beginning of June and I’m pretty sure we’ll be headed back to this same spot for their wedding portraits and bridal party photos. Though… I don’t think I’ll be able to play with the Forester this time.

Laura and Siddique / Chicago

Post by David – Laura and Siddique. What a journey we had with these two last year. There wedding and session we pretty close together actually and we were very proud that one of our images was in the New York Times for their wedding announcement. That felt very cool. We took them all over the city for their session which was over four hours long.From Lincoln Park, down to North Avenue Beach, and then spending the rest of it at night in downtown Chicago. These two are pretty much one of the sweetest couples we’ve ever met. And they’re absolutely CRAZY about photography. Laura is actually a pretty awesome photographer herself! We cannot wait to post their wedding that we shot soon after their session.We’re very sad to say though that these two recently moved to Boston, otherwise we would pretty much want to hang out with them every weekend since they introduced us to the joy that is Black Dog Gelato (food is definitely the way to our heart, in case you didn’t know) after their engagement session, and a number of other restaurants we now know and love. Plus they introduced us to Wicker Park, where they live, which is now on our short list of places we want to move to.We hope to see these two again soon and we’re ever out in Boston we know who to call on where to go eat!
