Debra and Jon’s New York Wedding

Wedding on July 3, 2010 at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack, New York - (Post by Cathy) This wedding was such a total blast to be at and to photograph. When Deb called us a while back about shooting her July 4th weekend wedding, she warned us that they would be a rowdy bunch at the reception. And she was right!:)We had such an awesome time hanging with their friends and family, and we are beyond excited about the photos we captured.

The morning started in Deb’s hotel suite where family members and bridesmaids (and the two most adorable flower girls ever) bustled here and there. And in the center of the storm was Deb who remained calm and in control the entire day and made sure to enjoy every moment. The ceremony at St. Ann’s in Nyack was absolutely gorgeous, and afterwards we had some perfect sunlight for some rockin’ portraits. And later in the evening, the reception was out of control, with break dancing, cake smashing, and the traditional tying of the ties around the head. In short, it was awesome.

Deb and Jon – Thank you two so much for having a couple of backwoods midwesterners out to New York to shoot your wedding.:)You two were such a pleasure to photograph and we had such an awesome time hanging with you. We truly hope you love the photos as much as we do!:)

How amazing is that cake and the rings?

Okay… so the Ice Luge definitely got used in ways it was never intended.:D

And then the night got a bit… crazy.:)

Debra and Jon’s New York Wedding Rehearsal

Rehearsal and Dinner on July 3rd at Casa Mia Manor House in Blauvelt, New York - (Post by David) This is just the first part of Deb and Jon’s gorgeous New York wedding. We had an absolute blast with these two and had so much fun being there for every minute of their wedding, from their rehearsal to the last dance. More on all that in our next post.:D

I really liked the roof of the church. Reminded me of a boat.:)

Deb promised she wouldn’t get emotional but she didn’t make it long before the tears started.:D

At the rehearsal everyone laughed and loved and Deb and Jon passed out their gifts to the bridal party and family. I seriously wanted her Dad’s USB record player but I couldn’t fit it in my camera bag.:D

Deb was always watching Jon.:)

Kara and Matt’s Valparaiso Wedding

Wedding on June 26th at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana - (Post by David) Back in my past life while working as a full time graphic designer I had talked with a lot of graphic design firms. Well Kara’s sister Kristen worked at one of them and after we shot her friend Meghan’s wedding she recommended us to Kara.:)And that’s how we met. Kara wanted a heavy focus on photojournalism and wanted to keep things natural, and as laid back as possible.

Their wedding was at the gorgeous St. Paul Catholic Church was was just plain stunning to say the least with it’s incredible stained glass walls. The ceremony was filled with Filipino traditions that were completely new to us and their reception was filled with the same love and joy that one would expect from such a sweet couple.

We had so much fun with these two and loved how much the couple spent out on the dance floor, and how much their family did with them. It’s weddings like these when we question if we’re really, truly, working.:D

It was so sweet. About a minute in to each dance other father-daughter and mother-son couples came out on the floor.:)

The gal below on the left sang a special ‘At Last’ and I swear she did it better than Ella Fitzgerald!:D

The couple had rented an old-school photobooth for their wedding and just had to snap a couple of these two.:D

A very emotional dollar dance. Hehe.:D
