Bloomington Illinois Wedding Photography | Emily and Mike

Wedding on May 1st, 2010 at Davis Lodge, Bloomington Illinois — (Post by David) To say that I’ve known Emily for a while is an understatement. I’ve known Emily (and her maid of honor for that matter) since second grade. I was so excited when I got an email from her asking if we shot in Bloomington, Illinois (my home town) and if we were available for her date. After shooting their engagement session at Miller Park I knew that this was going to be laid back, super fun, and might have some White Sox paraphernalia. It was definitely more than ‘some’. Mike is a hardcore White Sox fan (so am I, in the sense that if I were to watch baseball at some point it would be the team I rooted for) and so he even went so far as to have the tuxes be white with black pin stripes. The theme was complete when Emily surprised him with a seriously awesome Groom’s Cake made to look like Cellular One Stadium with a picture of them (from their engagement session) on the big screen. We had so much fun with these two and wished the night could have gone on forever. We wish you guys the best and hope to see you again!

Little story here. Something I’ve never seen at a wedding ceremony before that we thought was a great idea. Instead of lighting candles, Emily and Mike brought a little tree to which they both poured in dirt and now will keep this as a keepsake for their wedding. Our wedding candle is in a box somewhere. Kind of wish we would have done this for our wedding!icon smile photoGreat idea guys!icon biggrin photo

They had this bad boy spin it’s tires after the ceremony. It was pretty rad.icon smile photoI love this photo.icon biggrin photoFor the record, Cathy, my awesome wife got this while driving their SUV (to the reception) in one hand and her camera in the other.

I love that everyone has a different ‘ready-pose’ when it comes to the bouquet toss.

Okay seriously. The little ring bearer here (note the color-coordinator binky) walked right up to the two of them while Mike was going for the garter and just stared at them. Everyone was in hysterics. Guess who caught it?
