Amy and Travis / Indianapolis

Wedding Photography in Fisher’s Indiana at the family home. (Post by David, updated to sound better by Cathy) - Amy and Travis had gone to Vegas recently, where Travis had fallen in love with this absolutely stunning deep blue pinstripe suit lined with patterned fuchsia silk. “She totally surprised me,” he said, holding up his wedding gift in the light so I could get a better look at it. After Travis was dressed, we drove to the wedding site, where I joined Cathy in the house and got a glimpse of Amy in her dress — she looked absolutely gorgeous — so happy and relaxed, and couldn’t stop smiling.

The ceremony was held in the backyard, with the golf course in view and with Amy and Travis’ three children as the wedding party. Their handwritten vows brought tears to even our eyes. After the ceremony , we jumped into their SUV and headed to downtown Fishers for some portraits, and along the way they recounted to us the story of how they met — at a bar where neither of them wanted to be. Travis was able to remember the outfit she was wearing, her hair style, and how he added her as a friend on Facebook right there between drinks. “All I could think was that she was totally out of my league,” said Travis with a laugh as we pulled up to the train station where we were going to take photos. “But after 10 minutes into our first date, that was it.”

Now some of you who follow us on Facebook might remember that a few months ago we posted a sort of dare to our brides and grooms — we offered up a prize for the first couple to jump into a pool while decked out in their wedding clothes. So after taking photos downtown in the hot summer sun, Amy and Travis were more than happy to take a leap into a cool, blue pool to claim the victory prize. Cathy and I have never laughed so hard as they dragged themselves completely soaked from head to toe out of the pool while one of the dogs stared at them in disbelief.

At the reception, after changing into some dry clothes, Amy and Travis had their first dance in the living room, ate cupcakes in the backyard, and spent the evening talking and laughing with their friends and family. Cathy and I were “forced” to eat multiple giant cupcakes, take a couple of jello shots that tasted like pina coladas and in general just have fun with them while we took photos. Their welcoming hearts and open minds to our crazy ideas, when they let us drag them off in the middle of the reception to catch the sunset on the golf course, made the day one of our favorites.

Thank you Amy and Travis so much for being such good sports and for being yourselves. We hope you guys had an amazing time on your honeymoon, and we hope you love the images.icon smile photo
