In like a lamb, out like a lion. That’s how the weekend went…
Bloomington, Illinois – So for Mother’s day we went to Bloomington, Illinois (yes Illinois) to visit the ‘rents. It was a long drive there (3.5 hours) but nevertheless worth it.
How many rainbow pictures do you have??

Charlie LOVES car rides.
As Heather Cole would say, “MEOW!”

She falls asleep to iTunes music, in my lap while I drive. HAHA!

Arrival at the Herrin House.

So we got to my Mom and Step-dad, Lou’s House. Once there we invited my Dad and Step-mom, Carla to come over for a little Mother’s day celebration. My Mom and Dad are divorced but get along quite well now and surprisingly, get this, live literally a block away from each other. This makes Christmas, SUPER-easy.
My Dad, watching Carla open her Card and Mother’s Day Choxie Chocolates.
I love this.

Carla reading our card.
Happy M-Day!![]()

Lou gave Carla a tour, this is Mom and Lou’s new place and she hadn’t been in it yet. Lou has an enormous bronze monkey named George that watches over the entry way.

After Dad and Carla headed out, Mom and Lou gave us some cool stuff they got in Cancun last week. I’d show you the awesome hand-painted shirt they got me but I’m wearing it to a Hawaiian wedding we have in July! No sneak peeks Jane!!!
Check out this crazy-cool purse for Cat made out of wrappers!!

Lou is a Veterinarian and sometimes gets little gifts from clients. One client gave us like 5 lbs of Morels. Seriously. We made 3 FULL plates of them deep fried in butter…. they were spectacular.. Did I mention Lou is an awesome cook? With them we made Mohitos with the kit we got Mom for M-Day/B-Day. BE JEALOUS!!
Don’t they look delicious?

Mom!![]()

Luigi petting a Morel… lol.

Milli and I resting our bellies.

Sneak peak of Lou’s 1968 Lamborghini Islero we’re taking to Pocono, Penn. in June for Le Belle Machina D’Italia. More pictures and video of us racing this thing on the Pocono Speedway will be in June! Promise!!
Love the new tires Lou!

The next day we went to the garage to work on the cars, well specifically my Fiat. Eventually it will run.
Here’s a picture of Lou eating Doritos on the rail of his Car lift in front of his old Abarth (which doesn’t run yet either! … well the engine does, just not inside the car. LOL!)

Yes. It’s a turn signal. But I love this photo Cat got.

Abarth Headlight.![]()

Me removing nuts and bolts from my engine to install some parts. I can’t wait to hear this thing!

Somehow that engine is going to fit in this little car. Scary!![]()

Lou machining a new part for my Fiat.

Mom and her Kindle.

Proof that Cat makes silly faces. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Waiting for Dr. Lou. So cute!!![]()

Charlie getting a check-up and nail trim. She was such a good little patient.
She only weighs 7lbs. You’re such a tiny little runt Charlie-Bunns!

So we had a wonderful weekend with the parents, though we wish we could of seen more of Dad and Carla but they were helping my Brother and Sister-in-law move into their new home. HAPPY 1ST MOTHER’S DAY KRISTEN!!! WE LOVE OUR NEPHEW!!
…sorry… anyways.
You’re probably wondering about the lamb-lion statement at the beginning. Well after we headed home, guess what happened? A van nearly flipped behind us on the highway!!!! Holy Cow! A girl who had just gotten her permit was driving and we think her rear tire blew out and it caused her to fly into the wire side-rail and into the ditch but the wire saved the car from going into oncoming traffic and her life! We flew our car onto the shoulder of the highway, I tossed the cell to Cat and booked it for the van on foot but thankfully everyone was alright. I had to stay as a witness. What craziness.
Me talking to the police officer and the girl’s scared little sister. The van is totaled. All the emergency vehicles in Farmer City, IL arrived really fast! Way to go 911!

Me retelling the accident to the police officer and state trooper. Both did an awesome job with the family.

Well I think that covers the weekend. Wow. -David.
