Laura and John’s Engagement Photography on April 26th, 2010 – Chicago, Illinois
Post by David, Cathy and David Photographers
Chicago, Illinois — We’ve been in talks with these two for quite a while now and were so excited to finally be able to shoot their engagement session in Chicago. Laura and John are a non-stop happiness machine, which might be the cheesiest thing I’ve ever said, but seriously these two just don’t quit! John (who seriously looks like Joshua Gates from Destination Truth, one of my absolute favorite shows) kept us all laughing the entire session. From chasing seagulls, to manly poses in tulips; it just makes me more excited about their wedding day and how fun they are going to be to work with. Anyways, thanks again guys for the fun, the laughs, and for the chance to get to shoot in one of my favorite cities.![]()
Meet Laura and John.![]()

Let me tell yah, Lake Shore Drive is cold 365 days of the year. I don’t care if it’s August. But, you’d never know from these two.![]()

Word to the wise. When the wind hits, Buckingham Fountain’s spray likes to follow you, or at least me…![]()

The light up in Chicago seriously made me want to move there.![]()

My favorite.![]()

Cathy’s favorite.![]()

For some reason there was music playing through speakers in Grant Park at around 8pm for no reason. It reminded me of Disneyworld and was so completely random. Regardless, Laura and John decided to dance.![]()

This picture just makes us smile.![]()

The session ended with one of the prettiest city skyline sunsets I’ve seen in a long time.![]()

ashley folkema - Gorgeous! Love the lighting you were able to work with.
Amanda - These are gorgeous! The first one is my fave!
Lori Herrin - Stunning photos. Favs are them sitting in the tulips, fountain shot & Chicago sunset. Honestly, though, they are all wonderful.
Love you! Mom
April Foster - I love the colors in these pictures!
Katherine M. Bradley - Look at the lovebirds! You look so happy and the lighting is spectacular. I’m less keen on black and white – probably because that is all we had in my day
Love, Mom
lisa - her smile is unbelievably pretty.
Dorothy Koerner - Liked the symbolism in the scene with couples arms intertwined and the tree branches. Friend from CA, Dottie
Matthew Saville - Man, I’d LOVE to have more places like this around Southern California. Just gorgeous! I need more woods and natural parks. It’s like 99.9% suburbia around here…
Great shoot! Thanks for the blog comment!
