Rathskellar Indianapolis Wedding Photography | Emelia and Michael

Wedding Photography Coverage at the Rathskellar – Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana

Post by Cathy.

We first heard about Emelia from our friend, Amanda Wilcher, who she went to college with. Amanda was unavailable for Emelia’s date and recommended us (and we’re sooo glad she did because we love this couple so much!).

Emelia and Michael are two of the most genuine, real, and down-to-earth couples we’ve had. Their stress level was low, and I love that they really concentrated on truly enjoying the most important day of their marriage. The morning with the girls was spent in the kitchen of Emelia & Michael’s newly-purchased home laughing and watching YouTube videos before we headed out into the hot August afternoon to make our way to the church. Everything about the ceremony and reception was perfect. The bridesmaids’ dresses were so cute, and I LOVED the combination of the pink bouquets and gray dresses. We also had the chance to take some of their portraits down at Memorial Circle just as the sun was starting to dip down toward the horizon…and the gooey sunlight was perfection!

The Rathskeller was a perfect spot for the wedding reception with its old world decor and gorgeous window light streaming in over the dinner tables. Also, I have to mention that there was an abundance of adorably cute kids at this wedding that I could not stop taking pictures of. Especially that red-headed ring-bearer—keep an eye out for him in the slideshow cuz he kinda steals the show.;)Emelia & Michael – We so appreciated your sense of humor, your laid-back style, and your amazing love for each other. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your day and capture the first moments of your married life together!

On with the photos!

Meet Emelia!

Meet Michael!

I have no idea why we love this image so much. We just do.:)

One of David’s favorites for the day.

How amazing is this light??

David usually gets these by standing up on a chair with the Mark2 and a 35 1.4L, holding it above his head, and praying something turns out usable. It did!:-D

Waiting for the garter retrieval.:)

Thanks so much to Emelia and Michael for being such a super-fun couple to work with. We loved being a part of your day!!!:-D

Thanks for reading! -Cathy.

So beautiful! I love the light in that very first photo! And where you can see the bride in triple – very creative! Love the portraits on the street too, amazing light, again!

Hey Guys,

I am a very big fan of the images you captured with the bride from behind. That tattoo rocks! Also, the image of her getting her hair done…wow! So amazing to bear witness to our growth…Indiana is lucky to have you both!

9, 11, 14 are my faves. Love the deep, dark moodiness of your b&w processing. Just beautiful!

Now that I’m at home and not having clients looking at me and wondering why I’m not ready to check them out, I checked out the pictures again at home and I have to say that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE them. (Should I say LOVE them again – LOL). It has been a very hectic, busy week at work (and it’s only Tuesday LOL) and I’m sitting here with a much needed glass of wine. So it’s only appropriate that I raise by glass and toast your amazing photography skills and give best wishes to Emelia and Michael! I am positive that they will love all the special moments you captured in your cameras!!!!
Love you! Mom
