Blackstone Hotel Engagement
Erin and Al’s Engagement at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. We love when couples choose a unique location for their engagement session, something we’ve never done before that challenges us and gives us the opportunity to experiment. For Erin and Al, it was the Blackstone Hotel. These two were incredibly easy to work with and part of that is the amount of trust they put in me, even when I’m sure they had zero clue what photo I was trying to take (as is often the case when we’re shooting).
We love working with mirrors and existing lighting in our photography.
It’s just nice to have your client sit and cuddle for their engagement session. These two had no problem with that.
These two knew what I meant when I told them to give me some romance.
Sometimes it’s hard for our couples to keep a straight face when I’m hiding in branches.
You have to love it when the furniture at a location adds a bunch of color to your photos.
It’s fun to add a bit of height to a photograph.
We warn our clients ahead of time, you need to be okay with kissing. A lot.
Had a Bob Ross happy accident when I realized the branches from a vase were casting shadows, so I repositioned my flash and tried something different.
With the sun low on the horizon, and the city lights turning on, it made for a beautiful background.
We don’t believe in taking photos where the couple doesn’t look happy being together.
We want our couples to have fun, be themselves and get close to one another.
Thanks Erin and Al for trusting me and thank you as well to the staff at the Blackstone Hotel for being so accommodating.
