Gabriella and Jose | The Allure | LaPorte, Indiana • “In the entire wedding planning process, I think I’ve spent the most time on finding a photographer that we both love. These photos are SO important, since they factor so heavily into how and what we remember from our wedding day years from now. We both agreed that a more candid photography style is exactly what we’re looking for.” When I got this letter from Gabby, I knew full well that they were the exact kind of client we look for. And she told me about the rehabbed elementary school gym turned event space for their reception and wedding we knew that it was going to be an amazing weekend. Even better is when our couples hire our favorite vendors — in this case, Toast and Jam and Mike Hendzel Productions. We knew we’d have an awesome dance floor and have some excellent videographers to work with. All of this combined with the joyful explosion that is Gabby and Jose, and we had one heck of a wedding to document. Thanks so much guys for having us as a part of your day, for trusting us so much and for all the fun after the sun had gone down! See their engagement session here.

just for fun
Where did you go? Why? | We went on an all-inclusive honeymoon to Montego Bay
Jamaica. We really prefer relaxing beach-y vacations that give us a chance to just sit hang out
which is SO contrary to our everyday lives and take a breather . We’re self-proclaimed “island hoppers” and try not to visit the same tropical location twice. and Jamaica’s beaches were on our list. It was a perfect way to wrap up our wedding!
What was your favorite adventure? | One of my oldest friends recommended we check out the Luminous Lagoon in Jamaica– it’s one of the three places in the world where this “phosphorescent phenomenon” occurs and seeing the water glow in the pitch black darkness was one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen.
What was the best thing you ate? | Secrets Wild Orchid. The resort we stayed at had some amazing food selections. We chased around the jerk chicken “food truck” for lunch most of the trip. and although it wasn’t authentic Jamaican food we had a fantastic dinner at their French restaurant on our last night that featured a stuffed chicken breast with cranberry chutney and pork spare ribs.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day? | We paused for a few seconds as we were announced into our reception to look around at everyone and really feel the love from everyone. That moment will definitely stick with me forever.
Do you have any advice for couples? | Keeping with the theme of the last question everyone kept telling me how quickly the day goes by and big! And that couldn’t have been more true. Take a minute to really take in the small moments.
